I'm surprised that Shinsen got their subs out so quickly after the split. I'm also surprised that they didn't finish off the arc with episode 10. I know SHS has already translated it because Ureshii said that all 4 eps had been translated and timed before the break-up. So why didn't SHS hold off on 7 - 9 until they had finished 10? *shrugs* Who knows.

Ureshii has had to go back to square 1 a.k.a. translating the episodes because the translation was done by SHS. Ureshii thought it would be the honorable thing to do to not use SHS's translations. So it'll be a while before Ureshii releases.

I'm downloading the SHS subs for 8 & 9. But the versions I'm likely to keep and to pass on to my flist are the Shadow Dreams subs. I like they're version much, much better. Because she knows what little details are important for later in the series, if there's any uncertainty about the meaning of a line, she knows how to direct the text to the best outcome.

A very good example of this is in episode 1. When Naru first uses Mai's name, she freaks out and says "You used my name." Naru's response is "You said it [i.e. my name] first." If I remember right, Ureshii didn't translate that scene like that. (I'd have to double check to be sure since I haven't watched Ureshii ep 1 lately, but I'm pretty sure.) But you and I both know how important that scene is. To not have it in the sub is bad.

Yippee! My ep 9 download is done. But not my ep 8 yet. I guess I'll be a good girl and wait until 8 is done to watch them in order. Even though I'm salivating at the idea of watching the sewer scene in subbed form.
